Ingredients
🥄 16 oz ziti or penne pasta
🥄 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
🥄 1 small onion, diced
🥄 3 cloves garlic, minced
🥄 24 oz jar marinara sauce
🥄 1 tsp Italian seasoning
🥄 Salt and black pepper to taste
🥄 ½ cup ricotta cheese
🥄 ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
🥄 ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
🥄 Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
👨🍳 Preheat oven to 375°F.
👨🍳 Sauté diced onion and minced garlic in a large pan with olive oil until translucent.
👨🍳 Add ground beef or sausage and cook until browned, then drain excess fat.
👨🍳 Pour in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer for 10–12 minutes.
👨🍳 Cook pasta al dente, but undercook by 2 minutes.
👨🍳 Combine cooked pasta with meat sauce and ricotta cheese in a large bowl.
👨🍳 Transfer to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
👨🍳 Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
👨🍳 Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
👨🍳 Let rest for 5 minutes before serving, garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
Make ahead up to 24 hours or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in oven at 350°F.
