Instructions
👨🍳 Combine milk and cocoa powder in a saucepan and whisk to combine.
👨🍳 Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until it reaches a gentle simmer.
👨🍳 Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt, and stir well.
👨🍳 If using cardamom, add it now.
👨🍳 Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat.
👨🍳 Stir in vanilla extract.
👨🍳 Pour into mugs and serve immediately.
Notes
Use a wide saucepan to prevent boiling over. For a richer flavor, toast spices before adding.
